More About Dr Libby Forbes


Dr Libby studied medicine at the University of Queensland before completing her basic paediatric training through the Queensland Children’s Hospital network. She completed her specialist training in Paediatric Immunology and Allergy at Queensland Children’s Hospital and John Hunter Children’s Hospital (Newcastle, NSW). Dr Libby has also completed her specialist training in Immunopathology at Pathology Queensland, making her one of only a handful of paediatric immunopathologists in Australia.

Dr Libby is actively involved in research and professional development. She is involved in medical student teaching through the University of Queensland. Dr Libby is also a member of ASCIA (Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy) and CIS (Clinical Immunology Society). She regularly attends and presents at local and international conferences. Dr Libby has authored a number of papers primarily on the diagnosis of inborn errors to immunity. She is a biocurator for the ClinGen Primary Immune Regulator Disorders Gene Curation Expert Panel, actively contributing to the classification of inborn errors of immunity.
